Rock ‘N Ribfest 2009

NH State BBQ Championships

For the 7th year, the Rock ‘N Ribfest is hosting the New Hampshire State Barbecue Championships. This event, sanctioned by the Kansas City Barbecue Society (KCBS), and has been declared by the Honorable John Lynch, Governor  of the State of NH, the official state BBQ championship.

 

SATURDAY: Grilling Contest

(Grilling entries must follow NEBS Open Garnish rules)  

• Shrimp
• Rib Eye Beef Steak
• Sausage
• Chicken Wings

7:00 A.M. Gates Open

8:00 Meat Inspection for Saturday & Sunday Begins

9:30 Last Permitted Drive-In Arrival
Teams arriving later may have to carry their equipment in.
We cannot drive through the crowds.

10:00 Cooks’ Meeting for Saturday

11:00 Judges’ Meeting

12:00 Shrimp Turn-In

12:30 Rib Eye Beef Steak Turn-In

1:00 Sausage Turn-In

1:30 Chicken Wings Turn-In

2:00 Meat inspection for Sunday Continues
At the convenience of the meat inspectors.

4:00 (Approximately) Awards Ceremony

7:00 P.M. Cooks’ Meeting for Sunday

 

SUNDAY: KCBS Barbeque Contest

(Barbeque entries must follow 2009 KCBS rules) 

11:00 Judges’ Meeting

12:00 Chicken Turn-In

12:30 Pork Ribs Turn-In

1:00 Pork Butt/Shoulder Turn-In

1:30 Beef Brisket Turn-In

4:00 (Approximately) Awards Presentation

 

The contest area will be within the Ribfest festival grounds, so thousands of attendees can watch you prepare your award winning meats.  Contestants can enter either contest or both.  Barbecuing contestants will be able to stay on the festival grounds throughout Saturday night as you prepare your barbecue meats (24 hour security will be on the premises).
